First, we read the whole request
The form gives us the basics: whether you are buying, selling, or doing both; where the move is happening; how to reach you; and anything unusual about the situation. The open note matters more than it may look. A tight deadline, a property that needs work, a relocation, or a concern about communication can change what a good match looks like.
If something important is missing, the right next step may be a quick clarification rather than an immediate introduction. A cleaner match is usually worth a little more care at the beginning.
Then we narrow the local field
HomeFit uses AI-assisted organization to compare the request with available agent information. That helps narrow the field, but it does not make the final decision by itself. The operator reviews the situation before choosing who should receive the referral.
The practical questions are simple: Does the agent work in the right area? Are they comfortable with this kind of buyer, seller, property, and timeline? Do they have room to take care of another client? Have they been keeping up with the people already assigned to them?
- Local and property-type fit
- Buyer, seller, or relocation experience
- Current workload and availability
- Communication and follow-through history
- Any timing or situation-specific needs
We confirm the agent can actually help
A name on a roster is not the same thing as an available agent. Early in the network, HomeFit may contact a small number of carefully selected agents to confirm they serve the area and are willing to take on the client before making the introduction.
As the network builds a stronger record of current capacity and results, some matches can move faster. The goal remains the same: avoid handing you to someone who is already stretched thin or is not a good fit for the situation.
The introduction is still your choice
When a match is ready, HomeFit makes the introduction and gives the agent enough context to start a useful conversation. You can ask questions, compare styles, and decide whether you want to move forward. The introduction does not require you to hire the agent or sign a representation agreement.
Representation, services, commissions, and compensation are discussed directly with the agent and brokerage. Read those terms carefully before you commit. If the fit is wrong, say so. A useful matching service should be willing to learn from that and help correct the match.
HomeFit keeps an eye on the handoff
Most matching services disappear after the introduction. HomeFit is being built around a different idea: the handoff should remain visible. The operator system tracks whether the agent is updating the referral and whether follow-up is becoming stale.
That oversight does not put HomeFit inside your private client conversations. It helps the operator notice when the assigned agent may need a reminder, when a referral needs attention, or when future leads should be routed elsewhere.
How HomeFit is paid
Buyers and sellers do not pay a separate fee to submit a HomeFit request. If you choose to work with a matched agent and the transaction closes, HomeFit Network or its affiliated licensed real estate professional may receive a referral fee from the matched agent's broker or brokerage.
That referral fee is paid from brokerage compensation and is not a separate charge to you. The arrangement does not guarantee a result, and it does not replace your own review of the agent or the agreement you may sign with the brokerage.
Quick answers
How quickly will someone contact me?
Timing depends on the details and agent availability. HomeFit aims to review requests promptly, but the priority is a useful local match rather than sending your information to the first available name.
Will several agents call me at once?
HomeFit is designed around a reviewed, limited handoff instead of broadcasting your information to a large agent list. In some cases, the operator may quietly check availability with more than one agent before choosing an introduction.
Can I ask for a different match?
Yes. An introduction is not an obligation. If the communication style, experience, or situation fit does not feel right, tell HomeFit so the match can be reviewed.
Does HomeFit guarantee the agent or the outcome?
No. HomeFit helps narrow and review the match, but it cannot guarantee agent performance, a sale price, an accepted offer, a closing date, or any other transaction result.
